Why Deadly Coders exists

A critical STEM Skills shortage

In 2024, we will need 100,000 more digitally skilled workers in Australia – Deadly Coders provides positive education experiences and pathways to long-term employment prospect via meaningful STEM exposure at critical learning ages.

Early exposure ignites a flame

Children are innately fascinated with building and exploring. Early positive experiences and exposure to STEM is a powerful influence, leading kids to build their confidence and capability, and increasing their likelihood of further study and pursuit of careers in STEM.

A gap that needs closing

68% of Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander year 8 students performed below STEM international standards, compared with 34% of general school population. First Nations participation in tertiary STEM studies is 10 times lower than the general population rate.

Experienced Tutors sharing knowledge

Access to experienced tutors who love STEM, and provide face-to-face encouragement, guidance and a genuine care for student’s progression.

Opportunity for RAP programs

Immediate and tangible delivery of a proven program designed to BOOST indigenous exposure and participation in STEM
